The Beginners Guide to Western Boots

It wasn’t that long ago that western boots were almost always referred to as cowboy boots and you expected to find them on ranch hands, at the rodeo, and of course in classic movies. My times have changed. Today western boots are a fashion statement. Here’s a few simple guidelines if you are in the market for some fabulous western boots.

1. Sizing – There’s nothing worse than shoes that don’t fit right. The same goes for boots. You want your boots a little snug – they’ll soften and form to your foot. A good fit and you won’t want to take  them off.

2. Materials – Today you can get western boots from a variety of materials but calfskin still remains the material of choice. If you feel like something a little more exotic like ostrich or lizard it’s available but be prepared to pay the price.

3. Styling – You can choose from different styles and colors. Choose original styles and colors with hallmark western stitching or you could opt for something a little lighter a little more fashion statement. It’s great because there are an endless number of choices.

Don’t be afraid to experiment and have a little fun with your western boot shopping spree!
